Role of Information Technology on the development
Role
of Information Technology on the development
Information
technology (IT) is a technology which uses computers to gather, process, store,
protect, and transfer information. Today, it is common to use the term
Information and communications technology (ICT) because it is unimaginable to
work on a computer which is not connected to the network (Rendulić Dario Ilija,
2011[i])
IT has been playing a great role in the
development of economy, education, health and medical science and knowledge
base in India.
Role of Information Technology
1.
Indian Economic development in global
market economy.
2.
Education system in India has been
developing and progressing due to information technology. Information
technology is one of the reasons of academic growth and scientific development
of Indian education institutions particularly universities, IITs, IIMs, NITs,
Medical colleges and others.
3.
Health sector and medical science have
progressed enormously in recent time in India. People are becoming aware about
various diseases and the measures of cure through IT. For example family
planning programme is the most essential issue of development of population and
health of the society in India. The awareness regarding the need of family
planning has been possible because of wide spread and well developed IT in
India.
4.
Knowledge of the people is not limited
to the book or in particular place. Various newspapers, journals, websites,
Apps and TV channels are helping people to gather information and subsequently
leading to acquire the knowledge. There is no bar of place and time in
acquiring knowledge in today’s society.
